Today’s Passage
“I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth… I will remember my everlasting covenant between me and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.” (Genesis 9:13, 16)

One-Line Message
Even when we forget, God remembers the covenant He set in the sky.
Reflection
After the flood, God established a covenant with Noah and every living creature, promising never again to destroy the earth by water. As the sign of that covenant, He placed a rainbow in the clouds. What’s striking is that this covenant is framed as God’s own commitment: “I will remember.” Human memory fades with time, but God’s faithfulness remains unchanged across generations. The rainbow isn’t primarily a sign for us to remember God — it’s a sign God set to declare His own commitment to remain faithful. Even when our faith wavers, God’s covenant does not.
Reflection Questions
- What is your own personal “rainbow” — something that reminds you of God’s faithfulness?
- If you held onto God’s unchanging promise even as your own memory fades, what would be different today?
Prayer
Lord, help me trust that You remember even when I forget. Let me hold onto Your unwavering faithfulness rather than my wavering faith.
