Today’s Passage
“One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.” (Luke 17:15-16)

One-Line Message
Receiving grace is one thing. Turning back to give thanks is another.
Reflection
Ten men with leprosy came to Jesus together and were healed. Yet only one returned to give thanks — and he wasn’t even a Jew, but a Samaritan outsider. The other nine were surely just as joyful. But joy doesn’t automatically become gratitude. Receiving grace and returning to the One who gave it are two different things. We too receive countless blessings in life, yet often forget the simple act of turning back to the source and bowing down in thanks. Gratitude doesn’t end at the moment grace is received — it’s the walk back to Him.
Reflection Questions
- Is there grace you’ve received but never turned back to thank God for?
- When today could you pause and give thanks directly to God — not just feel grateful in passing?
Prayer
Lord, don’t let me stop at simply receiving grace. Make me the one who returns and bows before You — not one of the nine, but the one who came back.
